What can you do when you're Alexandre Serlot - it's possible to score four goals against the great Real Madrid last May, and then a year later to repeat it all, but with records, against Sociedad.
A crazy half hour for the Norwegian striker, an evening to remember - Serlot scored a hat-trick from the 7th to the 11th minute and a total of four goals, which he completed after half an hour of play, leading Atletico Madrid to a triumph over the club whose colors he previously defended (4:0).
The "nine" of the Metropolitano club also set a record for the fastest hat-trick in La Liga history, as no one has ever scored three times by the 11th minute of a match.
The previous record was held by Edmundo Suarez in 1941 and Đosep Bestit in 1929. Both of them needed 15 minutes to score a hat-trick.
"Marca" states that Serlot scored three goals in exactly three minutes and 57 seconds and that he is the player who scored a hat-trick in the shortest time in the 21st century.
The famous Madrid newspaper recalls that Kevin Gameiro scored three goals in four minutes and 44 seconds in the 2016/17 season, David Villa in four minutes and 47 seconds in the same season, and former Almeria footballer Luis Suarez in five minutes and 24 seconds (2005/06).
Serlot thus reached 18 goals in La Liga this season, and his Atletico remained firmly in third place in the Spanish championship.
