UEFA has decided - the final match of the Champions League will be refereed by Romanian referee Istvan Kovac.
Paris Saint-Germain and Inter will fight for the title on May 31st in Munich, and UEFA announced that Kovac will be assisted by compatriots Mihaj Marica and Ferenc Tunjogi, while Portuguese Joao Pedro Silva Pineiro has been appointed as the fourth referee.
The reserve referee will be Portuguese Bruno Miguel Alves Jesus.
The VAR room will be staffed by Dutchman Denis Johan Higler and Romanian Catalin Sorin Popa, supported by Paulus van Bekel (Netherlands).
Kovač is a physical education teacher by profession.
He was the fourth official in the 2023 Champions League final when Manchester City beat Inter, and the main referee in the Europa League final last year in Atalanta's triumph over Bayer Leverkusen.
