While waiting for news about obtaining a license for European competitions, some good news arrived in Podgorica - the Buducnost players will be the seed in the draw for the first round of qualifications for the Champions League.
This is known after Milsami from Orhei became the champion of Moldova - the team that was founded in 2005 drew with Sherif from Tiraspol (0:0) in the last round and thus reached the cup for the second time in history.
Milsami has a lower coefficient in the UEFA rankings than Buducnost, so the Montenegrin champion jumped into the seeding. If the epilogue of the championship race in Moldova had been different and Sherif had triumphed in the end, the team from Tiraspol would have ended up among the favored teams in the draw.
All of this means that Buducnost will have a great chance to skip the first round of qualifying as they will avoid some of the strong rivals who are among the seeded teams, such as Ludogorec, Steaua, Olimpija Ljubljana, Malmo...
Potential rivals will be Escaldes (Andorra), Shkendija (S. Macedonia), Levadia (Estonia), Dinamo Minsk, Hamrun (Malta), Kairat (Kazakhstan), Differdange (Luxembourg), Noah (Armenia), Iberia (Georgia), Vikingur Geta (F. Islands), Shelburne (Ireland), Egnatia (Albania), Virtus (San Marimo) and Milsami (Moldova).
Above all, the most important thing for Buducnost is to receive a license for European competitions after the appeal, after it failed to do so in the first round. The paper regarding the payment for participation in European competitions is then disputed, or rather its date, because the payment was late on time.
However, it seems that this time the Montenegrin champion will be lucky and the license will arrive, and then we await the draw and the name of the first rival in the Champions League qualifiers.
