With Real Madrid, he has won everything over the past 13 years, during which time he has become one of the best footballers in the world, and even won the Ballon d'Or, ending the great streak of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo...
All of this came at the expense of Luka Modric, who, after a disappointing season, announced that he was leaving the "Blancos".
Luka Modrić will not extend his contract with Real Madrid, which expires at the end of the season, and will definitely say goodbye during the summer at the Club World Cup.
"Dear Real Madrid fans, the moment has come that I hoped would never come. But that's football, and in life everything has a beginning and an end..." wrote Modrić, who celebrated 28 trophies with the "royal club" on the domestic and international stage.
"On Saturday I will play my last game at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium. I arrived in 2012 with great excitement about wearing the jersey of the best club in the world and with the ambition to do great things, but I never dreamed what would happen after that," the legendary Croat pointed out.
Modrić has won six Champions League titles with Real Madrid, and has four La Liga trophies...
"Playing for Real Madrid changed my life, both as a footballer and as a person. I am proud to have been part of one of the most successful periods of the greatest club in history. I experienced incredible moments - twists that seemed impossible, finals, celebrations and magical nights at the "Bernabeu"... We won everything and I was overjoyed. But, more than all the titles and victories, I carry the love of all Real Madrid fans in my heart. Honestly, I don't know how to describe the special connection I feel with you and how much I was and still am supported, respected and loved," Modrić said.

Before Real Madrid, he wore the jersey of Dinamo Zagreb and Tottenham.
"I will never forget every applause and every gesture of attention you have shown me. I leave full of pride, gratitude and indelible memories. Even though after the Club World Cup I will no longer wear this jersey on the pitch, I will always be a Madridista," concluded Modrić, the most decorated footballer in the history of the world's biggest club.
