Real Madrid has officially announced the end of its cooperation with coach Carlo Ancelotti, who will begin working as the coach of the Brazil national team on Monday.
"Real Madrid Football Club has reached an agreement with Carlo Ancelotti to end his term as coach of the club. Our club wishes to express its gratitude and affection for one of the greatest legends of Real Madrid and world football," the Madrid club said in a statement.
Ancelotti won three Champions League titles, a Club World Cup and a European Super Cup with Real Madrid, as well as two La Liga titles, a Spanish Cup and a Spanish Super Cup.
"Carlo Ancelotti is now forever part of the great Real Madrid family. We are proud to have enjoyed a coach who helped us achieve so much success and who also represented the values of our club in an exemplary way," said Real Madrid president Florentino Perez.
Real Madrid will thank the Italian coach for his achievements on Saturday in the match against Real Sociedad, the last in which Ancelotti will lead the Spanish club.
The Madrid club wished Ancelotti and his family "all the best in this new phase of his life."
