Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named the Premier League's Player of the Season.
Salah has scored 28 Premier League goals this season, had 18 assists and helped Liverpool win the league title ahead of the final round of matches scheduled for Sunday.
He scored five more goals than first-placed Alexander Isak from Newcastle, so he could also win the Ballon d'Or for top scorer.
The 32-year-old Egyptian striker is two assists short of equaling Thierry Henry and Kevin de Bruyne's record for the number of assists in a season, Sky reported.
No player has ever been involved in 46 goals in a 38-game league season, and Salah could break the record of 47, held by Alan Shearer and Andrew Cole, who achieved it in seasons in which 42 games were played.
Salah won the award for the best player of the season for the second time, after being the best in the 2017/2018 season.
Salah became the fifth player to win the award twice, after Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nemanja Vidic and Kevin de Bruyne.
At the beginning of the month, Salah was named the Football Writers' Association's Player of the Season.
In their final Premier League game, Liverpool will face Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday at 17pm.
