Former Montenegrin national team player and player of OFK Belgrade, Partizan, Mainz, Greuther Furth Milorad Peković will sit on the bench of the German second division team next season.
Peković, a Montenegrin champion with Dečić Admiralbet last season, leads Greuther alongside Thomas Klein - both of whom hold the title of head coach. They took over in early May, when Jan Sievert was sacked due to poor results.
Peković and Klein originally came just to finish the season, but they apparently satisfied the club's management, so they were offered a long-term contract.
The former strategist of Podgorica and Decic will hold the roll call for the new season in a month. To be precise - on June 25th. His and Klein's task will be, first and foremost, to raise the green and whites to a high enough level that survival is not in question this time.
Greuther Furth was two rounds before the end of the championship in the standings behind Eintracht Braunschweig, but managed to avoid the relegation play-off with a draw with Hannover (1:1) and a victory over Hamburger (3:2).
