Budućnost "Varvari" fans have issued a statement regarding the latest developments at the football club, its 100th birthday, its relationship with coach Ivan Brnović...

"After the last game and the interruption due to dissatisfaction with everything that is happening in our club, the atmosphere and situation that has been simmering for some time, and which is reaching its culmination in the days when the club's centennial should be celebrated, we feel the need to speak out.
We have mostly fought and continue to fight our battles for a better Buducnost alone, but for the sake of those who love Buducnost and are interested in the state of the club, for the sake of all the people of Podgorica, for the sake of the wider public who do not understand how we can be against a coach who won the title, and most of all for the sake of the truth, here is the reason why we are against coach Brnović.
Since he was brought to the club, and exclusively along party lines, because until then no results recommended him for any function, from the locker room, through the club offices to the pitch, his need to ask questions about absolutely everything is visible and felt, and he is the first man in the history of football to combine the functions of coach, club president, executive director, sports director, secretary, PR manager, treasurer and cleaner.
From the first misunderstanding with the fans and a situation in which his underage child found himself under threat from his classmates, which later turned out during the investigation to be a careless child's game that the Barbarians have nothing to do with, even in a parallel universe, the man in question goes to war with the fans and targets and falsely reports his own fans. After the first and only meeting with him and all the apologies and promises to mend the relationship, the man in question throws every word down the drain and continues to wage his war with the fans, and continues his fight with some imaginary enemy, which results in abominations such as: reporting and reporting people for lighting flares in the stadium, running into Buducnost fans in the stadium, asking the match delegate to clear the stands with his own fans, which is unheard of in the world of football, it even got to the point where people who give him a look that he doesn't like in the city are reporting to the police station.
In the sports segment of his activities, if he can even be called sports, the person in question goes a step beyond his competence, and thus decides to ask and make decisions that are not within his competence as a coach, and decides to change and appoint the supervisory board, president, executive director and the like, all with the approval and support of people from his party who brought him to that position, and who sit on the club's board. The person in question usually refers to the Government and the top of the state for every decision he makes and every problem he has, and complains and whines in the media about how the Varvaras are protected from the system. What a paradox.
The person in question fires players with multi-year contracts, thus causing financial damage to the club of some 400.000 euros, and seeing that he has the best team in the league, which would convincingly win the title even under the leadership of a senile retired physical education teacher, he decides to increase the salaries and bonuses for everyone, including himself, almost doubling them. Incidentally, the person in question finished the season in third place last year, and this year he was eliminated from the cup by Iskra solely due to his own mistake.
Along with all these 'values' of his, envy and vanity also come, so in a historic match for the youth team of FK Budućnost in the Champions League, he decides not to allow several of the best youngsters to play, justifying such a disastrous move by saying that he needs them in the Cup match against Igalo. A tragicomedy.
It would take a long time to list all his small and big mistakes, and the latest in a series are his sudden announcement to the captain and one of the best players, Petar Grbić, that he could no longer count on him and that his career would be interrupted overnight, as well as his refusal to cooperate with the newly elected sports director Dejan Damjanović, because he did not like him and probably could not manage him.
The club's management, the municipality and the supervisory board, which was appointed by political parties that we personally have nothing against, because we are not interested in politics, not that they do not take any action on these issues, but rather approve every decision of the club and in the centenary of the club, a jubilee that should be a holiday and a celebration, they actively participate in the chaos and cast a stain on a centenary institution. It should be noted that the aforementioned boards are staffed by people who have no and never had any connection with the football club Budućnost, who are not interested in this club at all, and who have not brought or created any additional value to the club, although they are obliged to do so. On the contrary, Budućnost has been without a general sponsor for a long time, without financial stability despite the sale of the best players, and without any vision for the future, which also includes the celebration of the club's centenary. The Podgorica audience and fans will obviously not enjoy any of these exhibition matches on the occasion of the great jubilee. We expected some great European opponent, and we got – nothing. What more can we say except – shame.
"We want results, sponsors, a full stadium and Europe under Gorica," Varvara said in a statement.
