There is only one goalkeeper in the starting 11, the backup goalies usually suffer the most - and usually the games, the real competitive minutes, are what they lack.

Filip Domazetović However, he got a lot out of Buducnost's championship season. He defended in six matches in the championship, two in the Cup, and also had the opportunity to learn from the best: the legend of the Montenegrin goalkeeping scene, Milan Mijatović.

The call-up to the Montenegrin youth national team at the end of the year is an indication that behind the 21-year-old Domazetović is a year of complete affirmation, decorated with a championship title.

- We had a record-breaking season, for history. We worked and trained hard and in the end all that effort paid off. The title we won along with a series of records gives us the wind at our backs before the European challenges - says Domazetović.

Training with Mijatović is a privilege.

- Milan Mijatović is my senior club colleague and someone whose support and advice I had even before he came to Buducnost. As a younger player, the time we spend together means a lot to me and it is a huge honor to share personal and professional successes with him.

Domazetović was not destabilized by the fact that he did not get a chance to defend penalties in the Cup relegation match against Iskra. He was substituted in the 90th minute, and the coach Ivan Brnović admitted the mistake.

- Of course it was difficult for me at that moment, as it would be for any player. However, the boss and I have an excellent relationship, he apologized to me, mistakes happen, but he showed me during both the previous and this season that he has a lot of trust in me - says Domazetović.

He and several other younger players are responsible for Buducnost maintaining their motivation and hunger for victory even when they made a big difference in the standings, mathematically securing the title.

- This season I would single out the game against Otranto in Ulcinj as my best, but I think I had a few games last season that were on par with it - says the young goalkeeper.

On the eve of the centenary and European challenges, the situation at the club is, to put it mildly, chaotic. How do the players perceive it?

- Various things are happening that are out of our hands, but I know that the players are professionals and that we will do everything in our power to prepare as best as possible for Europe and live up to the high expectations.

Buducnost is the seed in the 1st round of Champions League qualifying.

- I think we have a serious team and that we will make a step forward compared to previous seasons. Of course, our goal next season is the same - a double crown, which eluded us this season. As for my personal plans - I want to compete for the position of first goalkeeper and justify every opportunity given to me.

And before the Champions League qualifiers - commitments with the youth national team and friendly away matches against Turkey and Azerbaijan.

- Every player has a special desire to represent their country and of course a call-up to the national team means a lot. Playing for the young team is a huge honor and of course I expect to get the chance to defend the colors of my country - says Domazetović.

And in the long run...

- My dreams are big, but as with everything in life, luck plays a big role. Of course, along with hard work and discipline.
