Montenegro vs. Czech Republic, sixth act - the previous five were in the colors of our rival, the last three were played and celebrated by the captain of this national team, Tomaš Souček.
The West Ham midfielder was also a scorer in the match in Podgorica in 2019, but before tomorrow's (Friday, 20.45:XNUMX p.m.) new duel with the "falcons" he doesn't want to look too much into the past.
"It's nice that I scored a goal against Montenegro six years ago, but it means nothing for this match. I want to prepare as well as possible, as always, and our main goal is to win," Souček said at a press conference.
Montenegro and the Czech Republic enter the new duel after winning six points each against the Faroe Islands and Gibraltar at the start of the qualifiers.
"It's up to us to be the first to take points from them in these qualifiers," Souček said clearly.
He emphasized that coach Ivan Hašek devoted a lot of time to preparing for the match against Montenegro.
"We watched a lot of video material and had warm-up training sessions. We analyzed their games, but also our previous duels. We focused on both the team as a whole and on individuals. I won't reveal specifically what weaknesses we noticed and how we will play."
In addition to the duel with Montenegro in the June qualifiers, the Czechs also face Croatia in Osijek.
"We are waiting for teams with whom we will probably fight for the positions that lead us further, so this cycle is definitely very important. I don't want to look too far ahead - the match with Montenegro is the first step and the most important one at the moment. Our goal is to finish that match successfully," concluded Souček.
