The Montenegrin youth national team drew 1:1 in a friendly match with Turkey tonight.
The magnificent Ataturk Stadium in Istanbul saw a match in which goals were scored in the final minutes. The home team took the lead through Baraz Gezek, who used an assist from Ali Habesolu in the 82nd minute. In the first minute of stoppage time, Nikola Medojević beat the home team's goalkeeper with a shot from about fifteen meters.
Our team had its best chances in the first half - Viktor Đukanović missed an open shot on goal, Vladimir Perišić had a dangerous header, while Medo Juković also threatened after pressing the opponent's defense.
- We played a tactically mature game against a serious opponent. During the first half, we were an absolutely equal opponent and missed several likely opportunities to score. In the second half, we were in a much more inferior position, because the host pressed, and we lost the game we had in the first half. I would like to congratulate my players on the desire and character they showed in a very difficult away game - said coach Goran Perišić.
Our team will play another friendly match in three days, in Baku, against Azerbaijan. That match is scheduled for 18 pm our time.
