A friendly match with Armenia follows, tonight at 20 p.m. in Nikšić, but the Montenegrin national football team is still talking about the much more important one - the duel with the Czech Republic in Plzen and the almost unresponsive defeat (2:0) in the 3rd round of the World Cup qualifying group.
Robert Prosinecki reiterates that the first half was better than the second half in the Czech Republic:
- The first half was good, in the second we completely fell apart. We couldn't gain control, we weren't dangerous and we couldn't keep the ball, and there was plenty of space. It was certainly worrying, because we thought we would play better - said Prosinecki.
Montenegro played with three centre-backs in Plzen, this time they were Stefan Savic, Igor Vujacic i Nikola Sipcic.
- We played like that against Turkey. It was a completely different game, in more difficult conditions, but we performed very well. This time we tried to gain control in the middle of the field, we wanted to impose ourselves. And there was definitely room to play, we even did that a few times. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough - Prosinečki pointed out.
The Croatian plans changes for the match against Armenia, will make his debut Vasilije Adžić i Andrija Bulatović, Savić will be absent, Nikola Krstovic, Marko Jankovic, Vujacic and Milan Vukotić.
- It's true that Armenia's best player hasn't played for a long time. Henrikh Mhitarjan, but it is certainly a very difficult and tough team that plays in the 4-1-4-1 system. This is a very important match for confidence. I am happy that we have debutants, we will try some new players, those who have played less so far will also get a chance, so I hope for an interesting and good match. We have 18 players at our disposal - said Prosinecki and "called out" the debutants:
- We certainly won't judge them by one game. We know that these are super talented guys who led the youth team to the European Championship, but it doesn't necessarily mean that they will play at their best right now. They will certainly get a chance in the future because they have quality and we believe in them a lot.
What is clear to everyone is that Montenegro needs to rejuvenate.
- We definitely need youth. We will try to give younger players a chance in the rest of the cycle. Adžić, for example, should have made his debut earlier, but he couldn't due to injuries - concluded Prosinecki.
Adžić wished good luck to the youngsters, Jovetić becomes the record holder
Stevan Jovetić will play against Armenia - the question is whether from the start or only in the second half, but he will make his 87th appearance for the national team. And he will become the record holder for the most matches in the red jersey...
- Jovetic is here and feels good - said coach Robert Prosinecki.
Vasilije Adžić is ready to make his debut in the senior team, but he did not forget to wish good luck to the selection of which he was the captain until yesterday - the youth team that awaits its appearance at the European Championship.
- I would like to take this opportunity to wish good luck to my brothers, with whom I spent five years. They have proven enough times that they can play without important members of the team. I am convinced that they will achieve another feat at the European Championship - said the Juventus midfielder.
It's time to prove yourself in the A team:
- I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. Three times injuries prevented me from debuting earlier and showing my worth. I hope everything will go well - said Adžić.
