Bayern Munich footballer Leroy Sane has arrived in Istanbul for transfer talks with Galatasaray.
Sane will move to Galatasaray as a free agent, as his contract with Bayern expires at the end of the month.
Galatasaray posted photos of Sane wearing a club scarf on social media upon his arrival at Ataturk Airport, along with a message that negotiations with the 29-year-old German footballer have begun, the BBC reported.
More than a million fans watched a live broadcast on Galatasaray's YouTube channel, which followed the flight that brought Sane to the city.
Bayern wanted to keep Sane, but he refused to extend his contract. The club registered him to participate in the Club World Cup, from June 14 to July 13 in the United States.
However, he will move to Galatasaray, having reached a verbal agreement on a three-year contract, Atlético reported.
Sane won six trophies with Manchester City, then, as of 2020, won four championship titles in five years with Bayern.
He played 220 games for Bayern and scored 61 goals, of which 13 came in 45 matches last season.
