The Age of Buducnost represents an age of effort, work, dedication, blood and sweat. An age of pure emotion of those who will forever stay with Buducnost, said the president of the Football Association of Montenegro and the greatest legend of Buducnost, Dejan Savićević.
The Podgorica club celebrated its centenary tonight - with a ceremonial academy and a cultural and artistic program on the central square in Podgorica, with the presence of numerous great players who celebrated the blue and white colors.
The Mayor of Podgorica, Saša Mujović, also gave an inspired speech.
"On June 1925, XNUMX, a dawn broke in Podgorica and no one could have guessed that that dawn would become the most expensive of centuries and no one could have assumed that the Future would emerge from that dawn and that the colors of that dawn would become the colors of this city," said Mujović.
The Budućnost Football Club was founded as the Workers' Sports Society Zora. Later, the club changed its name to the Civic Sports Club Budućnost, then to the Sports Club Montenegro, and finally to the Budućnost Football Club after World War II.
"The life of existence is a testimony to the love of everyone who was a part of this incredible story. I am thinking primarily of Milan Rogošić, Miša Folić, Božo Dedović, Danilo Karadžić, Slavko Vlahović, Janko and Ante Miročević. This is where I took my first steps in my career and learned what dedication to football is. Every moment spent in the Buducnost jersey was the foundation of my career and I am grateful to everyone who significantly influenced the development of my career. I sincerely hope that I have at least given back a little of what Buducnost gave me as a player," said Savićević, who wore the jersey of the Podgorica, then Titograd club from 1983 to 1988 and left an indelible mark before soaring to the heights of European and world football.

"I have had the opportunity to watch the development of Buducnost through different prisms. As a boy from Titograd, through the club's players, as well as the president of the Association, and I can freely say that Buducnost is a great club and a true representative of our city."
Savićević presented the current president of FK Budućnost, Boško Kovačević, with a framed jersey of the Montenegrin national team with the number 100 - as a congratulatory message to the largest Montenegrin club on its great anniversary.
"Although it did not win a trophy in Yugoslavia, then Titograd's, and now Podgorica's Buducnost, was shoulder to shoulder with the greats in one segment. Top players were growing up who became national team members and played for big European clubs. In that, our club was a champion and I am especially happy that new champions are being born in the club who will represent us in the best possible way," said Savićević.
Holding a gala academy and a big concert is just one of the things the club has accomplished for this anniversary - and a match between the club's legends, the opening of a museum, the promotion of a monograph have also been announced...
Some of it will take place later, some will not. In the midst of major disputes in the club, interest and political tensions, the academy was still held, but more on that on another occasion.
Mayor Saša Mujović said:
"Rejoice Podgorica - you have something to rejoice about, celebrate Podgorica - you have something to celebrate. Medun and Duklja, Ribnica and Morača, Ljubović and Gorica, with them FK Budućnost represent the brightest lights of this city. The ones that separate us from others and the ones by which others recognize us. The football club Budućnost is a successful sports story. It is a story about life, about ups, downs, defeats, about great achievements such as those from 1965 and 1977, which were buzzing throughout the great Yugoslavia. But also a story about moves to lower football ranks. Buducnost is a story about family, about loyal fans, who are their club in good and bad times, and when it was necessary to cheer on our stars, our football virtuosos such as Tonko Miročević, Caco Ljumović, Dragan Vujović, Dejo Savićević or Predrag Mijatović, but also when it was necessary to applaud an opponent better than themselves. The audience "Buducnost carried it, and Buducnost retaliated and created that cult of a dignified and objective Podgorica audience," Mujović said.
The current generation of football players from FK Budućnost, the champions of Montenegro, ran onto the stage.

"The future is also an idea that brings us together, that unites us, that is passed down from generation to generation and from which there is no deviation. A hundred years since we have been with you is a shout to me, but also the realization of how many generations have woven themselves into this club. And they, the players, were and remain the darlings of the sports Podgorica. They were talked about at every turn - they were talked about in Hamza's pastry shop, they were talked about in the Crna Gora hotel, they were talked about in Radovče, on the corner by the post office, they were talked about at the hairdresser, at the shoemaker. This city lived for the Sunday football festivities under Gorica," said Mujović.

"The future belongs to all of us. And if we were to look at the number of trophies won as a measure of success, then we could say that there are better than us. We are not the best, we are not the most successful, we are the richest, but the future represents Podgorica and that is the only rational explanation for the endless love of the people of Podgorica for this club."
Mujović concluded with style:
"Listening to a radio broadcast from Tuzla in 1988, I well remembered the words of the reporter who said: today, at the Tušanj stadium, two teams with the most beautiful names meet - Sloboda and Budućnost. We live freedom, we enjoy freedom, and we build the Future and want it to be bright and prosperous. May Montenegro be eternal, may Podgorica be eternal, may the Football Club Budućnost be eternal."
Kovačević: Gratitude to all those whose work has enabled the club to survive and grow throughout the century
Current president of FK Budućnost Boško Kovačević spoke at the celebration.
"We are celebrating the century of existence of Buducnost, a symbol of Podgorica and an indelible part of our sporting and social heritage. I would like to express my gratitude to all of you who, with your work, friendship and love, have enabled this club to survive and grow throughout the century. Buducnost was founded back in 1925 as the fruit of love for football in what was then Podgorica. It is difficult to describe in words everything that this club has gone through in these 100 years. From the time when it was played on clay to modern stadiums, titles and European appearances. Each decade carries its own story, its own heroes... Every moment is woven into FK Buducnost. Buducnost has never been just a club, but an idea and a movement, a force that united, it was home to thousands of young people... Buducnost has given birth to legends who have become a symbol of the times, and when we talk about Buducnost, we cannot fail to mention the fans. They are always there, in good times and bad, the Barbarians have become the identity of Buducnost. Your song, backing and passion always "They gave us the wind at our backs. This anniversary is not just a reminder of the past, but also a call to the future. It is up to us to preserve the name of Buducnost, to continue to invest in our youth, to nurture the spirit of sportsmanship and to strive for even greater success, both on and off the field. May Buducnost remain a role model, leader and beacon of hope for Montenegrin sports. Buducnost is not just a name, but also an obligation to remain a sports ambassador for the city and the country," said Boško Kovačević.
