Liverpool have agreed the most expensive transfer in the history of the Island - Florian Wirtz will wear the red jersey and Bayer Leverkusen will receive 116,5 million pounds, or 137,5 million euros, for the captain, British media reported.
The transfer consists of an initial £100 million, with another £16,5 million to be received by Bayer through bonuses.
This transfer is a club record for Liverpool, and if bonuses are paid, it would also be a record transfer in British football.
The current record is £115 million, which is what Chelsea agreed to pay Brighton in 2023 for Moses Kaysered - an initial £100 million plus £15 million in bonuses.
Germany and Bayern Munich midfielder Wirz, 22, is now allowed to negotiate personal terms with Liverpool and that is not expected to be a problem, as he has insisted on a move to Anfield.
He will undergo a medical next week, when he returns from his holiday. Numerous European clubs were interested in Virc, who has been one of the best players in the Bundesliga in recent seasons.
Last season, he started 25 games for Bayer Leverkusen, scoring 10 goals and providing 12 assists. The team finished second in the league table, and the season before that, they won the double and reached the Europa League final.
He made his debut for the Leverkusen club in 2017, played a total of 197 games and scored 57 goals.
He made his debut for the German national team in 2021 and scored seven goals in 31 games.
