Nenad Vukčević had mixed emotions after losing 2:1 to Romania in his debut at the European U19 Championship.
"It's very difficult when you lose a game like this, especially for the players, because they gave their all, they burned until the last minute. Unfortunately, we weren't able to maintain the lead, and then not even the draw, which would have been very favorable for us. We're sad, but I told the guys that they can be proud," said Vukčević.
Romania was better...
"We saw a decline in the final minutes, we were not able to match the opponent's fitness, who was 'suffocating' us in the last zone, had many clear shots, some they missed, some we blocked, but unfortunately the one in the 90th minute came in. We also had some situations, a great chance in the last attack... Let's move on, we have to prepare ourselves physically for the match with Denmark first and foremost."
Vuk Vlahović made history as the scorer of the first goal for Montenegro on the big football stage.
"The feeling was incredible, the first goal in a big competition, a big moment. It cannot be described, it has to be experienced. But the regret remains that we did not last until the end. I thought we would win, that we would endure. We will do our best to recover and win the next two matches," said Vlahović.
