"Experience and encouragement to work even harder"

The Montenegrin youth football team ended its appearance at the European Championship last night, after being defeated by Spain (5:0) in the third round match.

Marko Perović, Almeria midfielder, said that participating in EURO 2025 is a great experience for him and the entire generation.

"Experience and encouragement to work even harder. We saw how much we lack for this level, as well as what physical preparation means for three games at this pace."

Regarding the match with Spain, Perović said that the tactical tasks were not done well in the first half.

"We had a few good chances to get ahead, we threatened. I think we gave our best, we were more relaxed than against Denmark."

The fondest memories are held by Vuk Vlahović, the scorer of the goal against Romania in the opening match of the championship:

"It's a great experience to play against Spain. We saw how much we still have to try to get closer to them. It's hard when you're constantly defending, but in the first half we weren't right, and in the second we gave it our all and created some chances," said Vlahović.
