Algerian authorities said three people were killed and 81 injured when a fence collapsed in a stadium stand after a match in which MC Alger won its ninth championship title.
MC reached the trophy for the second time in a row, after drawing (0:0) against Magra.
The incident occurred after the end of the match at the "Olympic Stadium 5 July 1962" when the fence on the upper part of the stand collapsed.
Several dozen fans fell into the lower stands, and shortly afterwards it was reported that one person had died and about 50 were injured. The Ministry of Health announced today that two more fans had died from their injuries and that there were more injured.
