Buducnost thanked Brnović, waiting for the name of the new coach - Grof's biggest wish, question is how realistic it is

Buducnost confirmed today everything that was clear the day before - Ivan Brnović is no longer the coach of the Montenegrin champion due to damaged interpersonal relations within the club, the coaching staff and in the relationship with the fans.

As announced by the Podgorica club, Brnović was dismissed at an electronic meeting of the Board of Directors.

"We express our gratitude to Ivan Brnović for the past almost 15 months during which he served as head coach, during which our club won the Cup in the 2023/24 season, and the dominant title last season, in which the record for the number of goals in a single season was broken and in which young football players gained great recognition," said Buducnost.

Buducnost wished Brnović luck in his personal and business life and emphasized that until the Board of Directors decides on the name of the new head coach, the team will be led by Srđan Nikić, the previous assistant in Brnović's coaching staff, during the preparations in Slovenia.

Buducnost will have to react quickly, because the first match of the 8st round of Champions League qualifying is expected on July 1th, and they see Miodrag Grof Božović as the ideal solution in the Podgorica club.

At the same time, the question is how ready is the expert who has been working outside Montenegro for 17 years to return to Podgorica and the club he managed during the 2006/07 season.

Božović has managed clubs abroad from Russia (Amkar, Dynamo Moscow, Perm, Rostov, Lokomotiv Moscow, Arsenal Tula, Krila Sovetov), ​​Serbia (Borac, Red Star), Azerbaijan (Neftchi), and Iran (Eteglal and Esteghlal Khuzestan).

The future of preparations continues with today's (18.30:XNUMX p.m.) test match against Mura in Moravske Toplice, while their first rival in the Champions League qualifiers is the strong Armenian team Noa.
