After four years and as many domestic titles, it's time to say goodbye - Marko Vešović is no longer a Qarabag player as of this summer.
The Azerbaijani champion recently thanked our defender for the phenomenal time they had together.
"No one will ever forget your dedication, fighting spirit and sacrifice in the Qarabag jersey. We wish you much success on your new career path," wrote the best club in Azerbaijan.
Since then, Vešović has been free to choose the best environment to continue his career, and it seems that it will continue to be the country on the Caspian Sea.
As reported by some Azerbaijani media outlets, the closest team to signing our national team player is Sabah - the club against which Vešović just played his last match in the Qarabag jersey. It was in the Cup final when the team from Masazir shocked the eternal champion and "stole" the trophy.
A possible transfer to this club would also mean that Vešović would not have to move from Baku, where he has lived for the last four years and where Qarabag plays as the host, since Masazir is practically a suburb of the capital of Azerbaijan.
Sabah is a young club, founded in 2017, but after eight years they have already won their first major trophy, the aforementioned Cup. In recent seasons, they have been a regular participant in the UEFA qualifiers, and this summer their first obstacle in the Europa League will be Celje.
If Vešović decides to strengthen this club, his coach would be Valdas Dambrauskas, an expert who last season was one of the main reasons why Montenegrin captain Stevan Jovetić signed for Cypriot Omonia.
Vešović arrived in Qarabag from Legia Warsaw in 2021, was the champion of Azerbaijan every season, won two Cups, and had unforgettable matches in the Europa League where the club from Agdam reached the round of XNUMX and a duel with the then unstoppable Bayer Leverkusen.
Throughout his interesting career, Vešović has also played for Buducnost, Crvena Zvezda, Torino and Rijeka. In addition to Azerbaijan, he was a champion in Croatia and Poland, while he won the Serbian Cup.
Now is the time for new challenges - Sabah or somewhere else, it is clear that Vešović will always bring at least great commitment, fighting spirit and sacrifice to the new club.
