He opened the doors of Serie A in 2017, somehow quietly became part of the big league, and then over the years he grew into one of its symbols, and Lazio certainly...
Montenegrin national team player Adam Marušić is slowly preparing for his ninth season in the sky-blue jersey, and as Italian media write, "number 77" will continue to be one of those who will lead the club from "Olimpik".
"Corijere dello Sport" announced that Marucio Sarri has no dilemma about a place in the team for next season - Marušić will be key in the defensive line of the experienced expert who returned to Rome this summer.
Sarri is counting on the guy, who has played 66 games for Montenegro, ahead of Eljseid Hisaj and Manuel Lazari - at right back, although our footballer has played on both sides and in many positions over the years.
"There is no doubt about that side of the pitch - he is the only player Sarri counts on without reservation," the "Korijere" is clear.
The fact that the expert from Naples has held Marušić in high regard since his first term at the "Olimpic" is also evidenced by the fact that the "falcon" member has already played 122 games under his leadership. He has only made more appearances under Simone Inzaghi - 134.
When it comes to numbers, it should be expected that Marušić will continue to improve his number of appearances for the "Biancocelesti", which is already impressive with 316 matches so far.
If he plays at least 27 games this season, he will become the sixth player with the most appearances for Lazio, ahead of Stefan Radu (427), Giuseppe Favali (401), Giuseppe Wilson (394), Paolo Negro (376) and Senad Lulić (371).
Marušić is one of the captains of Lazio, and so far he has won three trophies with the Roman club - two Super Cups and the Italian Cup.
Much more important than all the numbers is the fact that throughout the years he has been consistent, very good in any position he has played - after all, the fact that two experts like Inzaghi and Sarri trust him so much confirms everything.
