Otrant wants an express return to the elite ranks

After the success and promotion of OFK Mladosti DG on the first league scene Nedeljko Vlahović has set the same goal - to return Otrant Olimpik to Meridianbet 1. CFL.

The team from Ulcinj was relegated after one season in the First League and wants a quick return, and the young coach has experience and knows the competition.

- The goal is clear - an express return of Otranto to the First League. I like a clear goal, that was the case in Mladost DG, and we succeeded. Five rounds before the end of the season we were 15 points ahead of Rudar. Otranto is the favorite of the second league caravan, although it will not be easy, because Lovćen played in the play-offs, there are Iskra, Grbalj, Podgorica... I don't know what the ambitions of other clubs are at the moment - says Vlahović.

Otranto began preparations on July 7th, and the Second League starts on August 16th - the first rival is Internacional.

- We lack reinforcements at left back, and we are struggling to keep him. Valentin Rudovic, although there are numerous offers, especially a favorable one from Kazakhstan. If he doesn't stay, we will also look for a striker. The skeleton of the team remains, especially the local players from Ulcinj, and we have added several young men from the youth school to the team - Karamanagu, Djedbitrić, Lazoju and some other talented young men. Ulcinj at least has excellent conditions and climate, a great winter training center could be built. Now it has a new stadium, Otrant is owned by the Ulcinj Municipal Council and there is no shortage of support and help. Although a lot has been spent in an attempt to avoid relegation. The real problem is the fact that the new budget will only be available at the beginning of next year. But, we will push through, the people of Ulcinj live for football, we will have great support from the stands. Until the end of last season, Otrant was practically an away player in every game - explained Vlahović.

New coach Nedeljko Vlahović has also added several talented youngsters from the youth selection of the Ulcinj club to the team, but he wants to hire another left back and a striker.

Ulcinj's team has started preparations with seven new players, two of whom are young men who meet the bonus requirements. The schedule of the preparatory matches has also been announced.

- We will start with a match against Kom on July 15th, five days later we will play against Adria, and on July 27th we will play against Arsenal. Our dress rehearsal will be on August 8th with Podgorica.
