Buducnost players failed to qualify for the second round of the Champions League qualifiers. "Blues" drew against Noa last night in Podgorica, in the second leg of the first round (2:2, in the first match they were defeated 1:0), so they will continue the season in the Conference League qualifiers, where they will play with Moldovan Milsami.
Buducnost was losing 2:0 last night, they had fewer players, and then in the second half, thanks to good play and energy, they managed to equalize (scorers Ivanovic and Grbic). Goalkeeper Domazetovic saved a penalty before Buducnost's second goal, and in the end, the "blues" were greeted with applause from the stadium.
"I congratulate the players, especially on the performance in the second half. Coming back from 0:2 to 2:2 with a player less, that only proves the quality, will, desire of the players and love for this club and the fans. Special thanks to the fans, they were our 12th player and we left our hearts on the field. We came back into the game after a big deficit. I think we deserved penalties, that was how the match was realistically decided. Phenomenal atmosphere, I am overjoyed, despite the fact that we did not manage to advance, I have to be satisfied," said Budućnost coach Nenad Lalatović after the match.
Lalatović was greeted with applause from the fans.
"Thank you to the audience for accepting me like this, I will do my best to repay them. This is how you play for Buducnost, for Montenegro."
Buducnost had one player less, as Ivan Bulatovic received two yellow cards.
"There is still regret for the red card, we played with ten men for 70 minutes. Against Noa, scoring two goals with one less player, I think that is a great success for our team. Now there is even greater regret for the way we conceded the first goal in Armenia and the first goal tonight... In a way, we defeated ourselves, maybe from the pressure. I can't fault the players for anything - Lalatović said at the end of the match for RTCG.
