In the difficult moments that Arsenal is going through, some good news is coming - the super-talented 17-year-old Viktor Lesjak, a cadet and youth national team player of Montenegro, has agreed a transfer to Spanish club Almeria!
"I am delighted to be able to confirm my arrival in Almeria, this is a huge step forward for me, a new chapter that brings challenges, but also an opportunity to show who I am and how much I want to succeed and to justify the trust that has been placed in me with every training session and every minute on the pitch," said Lesjak.
The teenager, who made his Premier League debut last season and played eight games for Arsenal, confirmed his great talent with every move he made.
A talent who will soon "honor" on the big stage, in a member of the Spanish La Liga 2.
"This is the biggest indicator so far that Arsenal's youth academy, under the leadership of Božidar Tujković, is doing the right job. We wish Viktor a lot of luck and success in Spain and that he represents Tivat and Montenegro in the best possible way," Arsenal announced.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Arsenal FC and all the people at the club who recognized this step as the right one for me. I would also like to thank my coach Mirko Uskoković, who helped me prepare for everything that awaits me in Spain," added Lesjak.
In Spain, they will welcome Marko Perović, who moved to Almeria exactly a year ago and immediately made his way to the senior team.
Almeria, a club from Andalusia, a former member of La Liga, played in the play-offs to enter the elite last season, but were defeated by Oviedo, a new member of the elite.
"Thank you to Almeria for the trust they have shown me, I am ready to give my all for this jersey," said Lesjak, a young man who also has a Croatian passport, which allowed him to transfer abroad even though he is not yet 18 years old.
The transfer was brokered by Matej Špadijer and David Cvjetičanin - the same agents who brokered Perović's move to Almeria last year.
Lesjak's transfer will be made official once some more administrative finesse is completed. Considering that he is a minor, even though he has a passport from a European Union member state, there are a lot of complications.
