Rudar failed to make it through the Jezera play-offs to return to the Merdianbet 1. CFL, and the management of the most trophy-winning football club from the north of the country decided to have Nikola Sekulić lead the team on a new campaign.
He spent most of his playing career in Rudar, and was also a member of Lovćen and Mornar.
Last season, Sekulić successfully led the Rudar cadet team.
Compared to the team that was the runner-up of the Second Football League in the previous season with coach Malden Lambulić, a large number of players left the team, including captain Vojin Pavlović, who will continue his career in Zeta.
Sekulić will be forced to rely on a large number of players from the club's youth system, given the long-standing problems of the pride of Pljevlja. He will begin preparations for the 2025/2026 season on Monday, July 21.
Rudar has two Montenegrin championship titles and four Montenegrin Cups.
