The start of the season for Sutjeska players couldn't have been better - the team from Nikšić eliminated the Belarusian Dinamo from Brest at the start of the Conference League qualifiers, and will play against Beitar from Jerusalem in the second round. The first match is tonight (20.30:XNUMX) near Bistrica.
During the two-legged tie with Dinamo, Sutjeska was the better rival, although it only paid off in the second leg - on neutral ground in Hungary.
Although the team from Nikšić now faces a team that is better than the representatives of Belarus, Milija Savović's men do not want to go into the rematch with a deficit for the second time, which will once again be played on neutral ground, but in Romania.
"Progressing to the second round has brought us more enthusiasm, self-confidence, better energy and atmosphere. The club is satisfied at all levels. Beitar is better and stronger than Dinamo, we have a tough job ahead of us. The Israeli league is good, a few places above the Serbian and Croatian ones, and that speaks volumes about the quality and strength of our opponents," said Sutjeska coach Milija Savović.
The team from Nikšić analyzed their rival.
"We had the opportunity to watch some games, we could see indications of how they play and what they do. We will try to take advantage of the situations that we saw as possible spaces where we should attack. Beitar is a fast and aggressive team, we need to impose ourselves adequately for such a rhythm and respond in the right way. I think we can play a good and quality game and with a little luck maybe even win," said Savović.
Sutjeska missed many scoring opportunities during the two matches against Dinamo.
"It's a new team and a new environment. I hope that it will be better and more relaxed now, that the situation will be resolved in a better way. We should expect that we will grow as a team from game to game, that we will play better together and that we will achieve quality results," explained Savović.
The stadium near Bistrica will be full, admission is free.
"I expect a full stadium. We are playing at home and we want a good result. Beitar is a good team, better than Dinamo Brest. We played two games against Dinamo correctly. I hope that we will enter the next one even better, that we will get the best possible result, so that we can qualify for the third round in the second leg. We have room to adjust. We are of better quality than last season, there is certainly room for improvement. I hope that we will play better and better," said the captain of the "blues" Vladan Giljen.
The match near Bistrica is refereed by Georgi Ginchev from Bulgaria.
The winner of this duel will play in the third round against Riga from Latvia or Dil Gori from Georgia.
