Milutin Osmajić - Andrija Vukčević, the tandem of Montenegrin national team players, will wear the Preston jersey next season.
This became known after Vukčević successfully passed a trial period with the English club during preparations in Spain and signed a three-year contract on Friday evening.
Vukčević joins the Championship after an episode in Cartagena, Spain, and wants to prove himself in a league that is definitely of higher quality, tougher and more difficult than the Segunda.
"I'm very happy to be here. From the first day I arrived, I had support and they helped me adapt a lot. It was everyone's wish that I would sign a contract. We did that, now it's time for me to show how much I'm worth," Vukčević told the club's website.
The experienced left-back (28 years old), who was born in Carioca, started his senior career in Buducnost, later played in Spanish, Serbian, Belgian and Croatian football. He also reached Mexico (Juarez). He collected 18 matches in the Montenegro jersey.
"I'm sure we'll have a successful season. I came to help Preston achieve its goals," Vukčević emphasized.
Preston manager Paul Heckingbottom did not hide his pleasure at Andrija's arrival:
"Vukčević has been excellent since he arrived for the preparations in Spain. He has the right attitude, he has shown through the preparation matches that he is a reinforcement and that he can be powerful on the left side of the attack. With him in the team we have many more options," said Heckingbottom.
Vukčević was welcomed to Preston by Osmajić, and the club made an interesting presentation of the new signing.
Andrija was promoted on the day Osmajić celebrated his 26th birthday.
"Mili's birthday surprise," Preston announced, referring to Vukčević.
The Championship season begins on August 9th, with Preston visiting Queens Park Rangers in the first round.
Seven days later, Vukčević will have the chance to show off to the home fans at Deepdale, as Preston welcome Leicester, a former Premier League member.
