Lalatović before the start of the domestic championship: We have to rise from the situation and beat Jezero

The new season in the MeridianBet First Montenegrin Football League begins tomorrow with the first round matches. The defending champion is Buducnost, who will host Jezero in Berane. The match at the City Stadium starts at 20 p.m.

The match against Jezera comes just days after being eliminated in the Conference League qualifiers by Moldovan Milsami. Buducnost has finished the season in Europe, so the focus is now on the domestic championship, where the "blues" will try to win their eighth title.

"It's a big challenge for me to be the coach of Buducnost and to work in Montenegro. I'm new to the championship, but I'm happy to live in Podgorica, to work at the biggest club in Montenegro, and I also hope that we will all be happy at the end of the season - both the fans and the players...", said Buducnost coach Nenad Lalatović for the club's website.

Lalatović emphasizes that there is quality when it comes to football in Montenegro.

"I'm getting to know the opposing players and teams more and more, I respect them to the fullest, and if anyone thinks that quality doesn't exist in Montenegro, just look at where and how the guys who left Buducnost and other clubs are playing. The players from Podgorica are either leading players or on the verge of starting 11s at Partizan, Lens, Juventus..."

At the start of the season, the Buducnost team will face Jezero, which has been known to surprise the "blues" for seasons now.

"I talked to my colleagues, they told me that Jezero has been a problem for us for years, and the first game in the championship is always the most difficult. We have a demanding game, but Buducnost is going to win, no matter who it plays," Lalatović said clearly, adding...

"Jezero is a disciplined team, a club that is organized in the right way, and it has an excellent coach who was the national champion with the Buducnost team. The opponent and the opposing coach deserve maximum respect from our side."

Buducnost wants three points to start the season in the domestic championship in the best way, and also to be in a good mood for the derby with Sutjeska in the 2nd round.

"We need a good game against Jezero and three points to enter the derby with Sutjeska next weekend. Of course, I repeat again that I have great respect for Jezero and my colleague Džudović and we will be extremely careful," said Lalatović.

Buducnost missed a big chance in Europe, and the question is whether this will affect the team at the start of the championship.

"The players are aware of what they missed, we are all exhausted, but it is up to me to motivate them to regain their confidence. It is logical that they lost it a little, but they shouldn't, because we played two great games against Noa, were better than Milsami, and we are still not in Europe, just because of a drop in concentration.
