For a long time, for a full 80 minutes, it seemed that Jezero would once again be Buducnost's "black beast", but in just 60 seconds, the champion made the start of the new season a triumphant one. Regardless of the fact that the match in Berane, like recent ones in Europe, showed many of the Podgorica team's shortcomings.
The biggest Montenegrin football club, after a turnaround, defeated the team from Plav - 2:1, in the 1st round of the Meridianbet First Montenegrin Football League. Jezero led after a nice goal by Meldin Kojić, and Buducnost celebrated with goals by Nedeljko Piščević in the 80th and Andrej Camaj in the 81st.
The news from the north of our country is certainly that the talented Lazar Savović played for the "blue and whites" in the second half after his suspension, while coach Nenad Lalatović was sent off at the end of the game.
It seemed that the champion entered the match better, during the first 15 minutes they tried to impose themselves, but Kojić skillfully reminded why Jezero never disappoints against Buducnost. A great left-footed shot from the edge of the penalty area for 1:0.
After that goal, there was only the Plav team on the field until the end of the first half, and it's a wonder they didn't increase their lead.
After a shot from almost a dead corner, Đorđe Maksimović was cleared off the goal line by Adnan Orahova, Hiroki Harada had a dangerous shot, Balša Boričić hit the post, and Mario Đoljaj shot over the goal after a nice move... All from Buducnost was a solid attempt from 25 meters by Ognjan Gašević.
However, Lalatović was substituted later, Camaj, Savović and Milan Vušurović came on, and Buducnost finally started playing.
Two great chances by Ivan Bojović were the harbinger of victory, although Jezero bravely held on until the last ten minutes.
First, Piščević headed home after a corner kick from Gašević, and just a minute later, Camaj showed his talent once again. First, he made a brilliant pass to Nemanja Jovicić, and then easily scored for Buducnost's first triumph.
Sutjeska announces exciting season
It is expected that after several bad seasons, Sutjeska will be Budućnost's main rival this year, and Milija Savović's men announced this in the first match.
The team from Nikšić defeated Mornar 3:0 in front of their fans in a match in which the away team also had its chances, but the home team was much more enthusiastic.
Barani survived many great chances in the first half thanks to the great goalkeeper Stefan Popović, but then capitulated at the beginning of the second half after they started attacking more decisively. Sutjeska's counterattack was brilliant, and Balša Tošković, after the European matches, scored at the start of the domestic championship - Petar Aničić was the assistant.
It was the 55th minute, and just eight minutes later the most beautiful goal of the round - Vasilije Čavor hit the far corner with a projectile from about twenty meters and practically announced Sutjeska's first triumph.
Mornar had a great opportunity through Darko Zorić to get back into the game, but they didn't take advantage of it, and then Vasko Kalezić made it 3:0 in stoppage time.
Dečić knocks down a returnee in the 1st CFL in a goal.
The 2024 champion also celebrated, it seems somehow easier, although he conceded two goals from the returnees to the first league: Dečić - Mladost DG 3:2.
The club from the "DG Arena" in Tuzi held on until the end of the first half, and then conceded two goals in three minutes - Iljir Camaj first scored a great goal, and then assisted Balša Radusinović.
Mladost came back through Lazar Knežević, and then Radusinović increased the lead of Nebojša Jandrić's team again with a great goal - the final 3:2 was made by Balša Mrvaljević after a mistake by Igor Nikić, the goalkeeper of the Montenegrin national team.
Petrovac showed right from the start that they will be a serious rival for the top of the table this season - with goals from Sava Arambašić and Nemanja Carević, the "sky blues" celebrated 2:0.
UEFA banned Arsenal from its competitions for ten years, but that did not deter the Tivat fans from filling the stands of the stadium in the Montenegrin bay. In a beautiful atmosphere, the home team beat Jedinstvo (2:0) thanks to an own goal by Ognjen Obradović and a goal by Nemanja Bojanić.
