It is not yet known where Nikola Krstović will play in the new season, but what is practically certain is that it will not be Lecce.
It was clear earlier that the Montenegrin striker would leave the club from "Via del Marea" this summer, and now two famous football journalists from Italy, Fabricio Romano and Gianluca di Marzio.
More precisely, they are reporting the statement of sports director Severi Stiki Damiani.
"Transfers? I'm glad that our players are being linked with big clubs. We knew about Krstović before, but his situation is different from, say, that of Santiago Pierotti, as he expressed his desire to turn a new chapter in his career," said Damiani.
He confirmed that Lecce will not cause any problems for the guy from Montenegro, of course under one condition.
"If the situation is good for both sides, Krstović can go. Otherwise, we will be happy to keep him."
Ever since February, when one of the club's directors, Stefano Trinkera, announced that Krstović was ready for a big club, many names have been circulating in the media - from Milan, Inter, Napoli, Leeds, to Atalanta.
However, it seems that our striker is closest to Rome and the Roma jersey - allegedly from earlier and has a verbal agreement with the club from the Eternal City.
Krstović was Lecce's best player last season, scoring 11 goals and registering five assists. According to media from the Apennines, Lecce would let him go for 25 to 30 million euros, and during the summer, sporting director Pantaleo Corvino stated that the "nine" of the club from southern Italy is worth 35 to 40 million.
