The European Football Union (UEFA) has displayed a banner with the messages "Stop killing children" and "Stop killing civilians" ahead of tonight's Super Cup match in Udine between Paris Saint-Germain and Tottenham.

The message was displayed in front of players from both teams on the pitch ahead of the start of the match at the Friuli Stadium.

"The message is clear and loud. Transparent. A call," Uefa said on social media X.

The move comes a day after the UEFA Children's Foundation announced its latest initiative to help children affected by war in different parts of the world, in partnership with Doctors of the World and Doctors Without Borders.

The European House of Football supports projects affecting children in conflict zones in Afghanistan, Lebanon, Sudan, Syria, Yemen and Ukraine.
