Arsenal Football Club has reached an agreement with Crystal Palace for the transfer of Eberechi Eze worth £67,5 million, British media reported today.
The London club will pay a fixed fee of £60 million, with an additional £7,5 million in bonuses, while negotiations over personal terms with the player are in the final stages, Sky Sports reports.
Although Eze's buyout clause, worth €60 million plus €XNUMX million in bonuses, expired before the start of the Premier League season, Arsenal managed to take advantage of the situation and snatch the transfer from city rivals Tottenham, who were close to a deal on Wednesday.
The England international is expected to be in Palace's squad for the Conference League match on Thursday to bid farewell to the fans, while medicals at Arsenal could take place as early as Friday.
Tottenham were prepared to offer Richarlison in exchange in negotiations, which would open up space for the arrival of Joan Visa from Brentford, but Arsenal sped up the deal after Kai Havertz's injury and snatched the desired transfer from their competitor.
Eze (27) was a starter in Palace's draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, and has a contract with the club until 2026.
