Everton players defeated Brighton 2-0 at home today, in the second round of the English Premier League.
Everton won their first official match at their new Dickinson Hill stadium with goals from Illiman Ndiaye in the 23rd minute and James Garner in the 52nd minute. Both goals were assisted by Jack Grealish.
Brighton missed their best chance of the match in the 77th minute, when Danny Welbeck failed to convert a penalty kick.
Everton is eighth with three points, and Brighton is in 17th place with one point.
In the next round, Everton will visit Wolverhampton, while Brighton will welcome Manchester City.
At the same time, Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest played out a 1-1 draw in London.
The home team took the lead with a goal from Ismail Sarr in the 37th minute, and Nottingham Forest equalized with a goal from Callum Hudson-Odoi in the 57th minute.
Nottingham is fourth with four points, and Crystal Palace is in 13th position with two points.
In the next round, Crystal Palace will host Aston Villa in Birmingham, while Nottingham Forest will host West Ham.
