Newcastle have agreed a deal worth €80m for Stuttgart striker Nick Voltemade, who is due to undergo a medical in northern England on Friday morning.
This transfer of the 23-year-old could open the door for Alexander Isak to achieve his long-desired move to Liverpool.
Voltemade has two caps for the German national team, and has found himself high on Bayern Munich's wish list this summer, after scoring 17 goals in 33 appearances for Stuttgart last season.
His arrival would mark the end of manager Eddie Howe's long search for a striker.
After being rejected by Liam Delap, Hugo Ekitike, Joao Pedro and Benjamin Sesko, among others, during a summer marked by Isak's decision to go on strike to force a move to Anfield, this transfer will come as a huge relief for Newcastle.
