The two toughest challenges are ahead of the Montenegrin football team this September in the World Cup qualifiers. The Falcons will first welcome the Czech Republic on Friday near Gorica, and three days later they will face Croatia in Zagreb.
Unlike our national team, the Czechs will focus all their attention only on Montenegro this time, because in addition to the duel in Podgorica, they will also play a friendly match with Saudi Arabia.
Although they have won all six of their previous matches against the "falcons" and conceded only one goal (and that in a friendly match), the Czechs do not expect it to be easy to take home the points this time. They won 2-0 in Plzen at the beginning of June.
"After already playing one match against Montenegro in the World Cup qualifiers, we know that we are in for another very tough match," said Pavel Schulz, the Czech Republic's attacking midfielder.
Montenegro returns to Podgorica after several games played as hosts in Nikšić, and the new player from French Lyon expects the "falcons" to have strong support from the stands.
"It will be especially difficult because we are also playing away from home, in a hellish atmosphere," emphasized Schulz.
However, after the defeat to Croatia (5:1), Ivan Hašek's men know that they practically have no room for error under Gorica.
"We have to push through that game. I believe there is still something to play for in the qualifiers," concluded Schulz.
