The seventh defeat against the Czech Republic extinguished the hopes of Montenegrin football players.
They are too far from the World Cup, and coach Robert Prosinecki is aware of this after the Czechs defeated our team for the second time in three months.
Again, like in Plzen, it was 2:0.
"It's not good when you lose like this. We conceded a goal after a throw-in in the 4th minute, then pressed, tried and had a lot of chances. We had some chances and it could have turned around. After that, we went for all or nothing," Prosinecki told RTCG.
He is not dissatisfied with the "falcon" edition.
"I think it looked good. The boys fought, it took some luck to score one goal and then the game might have gone differently. After this defeat, there is very little chance of progressing, but we tried everything - with two and then with three strikers. I congratulate my team on their fighting spirit and the kids who played - they showed that they can be in the team in the future," Prosinečki pointed out.
Croatia is away in Zagreb on Monday.
"Croatia is without a doubt the favorite. Let's try to refresh ourselves and compete," concluded Prosinečki.
