The Croatian national football team defeated the Faroe Islands away last night (1:0), so after three matches played in the World Cup qualifiers they have nine points - three fewer, but also two matches less than the Czech Republic, which holds first position after a triumph over Montenegro (2:0).
The "Fiery Ones" scored the only goal last night in the 35th minute, scored by Andrej Kramarić. However, coach Zlatko Dalić was not satisfied with his team's performance after the match.
"You remember the points, nothing more. We expected a tough game, but not this much. Lots of bad things and mistakes, a game to forget. A lot of things affected it, from the pitch and the weather, and there were a lot of problems on our side. Lots of changes and absences, I hope we don't repeat a game like this," Dalić said after the match.
Croatia plays against Montenegro on Monday (20.45:XNUMX) at "Maksimir" in Zagreb.
"Montenegro? We need to win six points, we are absolute favorites, but we need to improve a lot, to be much better. We need to win," said Dalić.
Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livaković talked about the condition of the pitch in the Faroe Islands.
"It wasn't easy at all. A different surface, but in any case, we have to do better in three days against Montenegro. We skated a lot, they probably play on artificial surfaces every weekend," said Livaković.
The "Fiery" goalkeeper also talked about the upcoming match against Montenegro.
"The plan is to beat Montenegro. To analyze them well and get three points with the crowd."
The goal scorer, Kramarić, was not satisfied with the team's performance.
"A very important three points. We expected exactly this kind of game, teams struggle here. The most important thing is that we took three points, we knew it would be a fight to the end," said Kramarić.
