The young Montenegrin national football team played an excellent game tonight, beating Sweden and recording a victory (2:0) in the second round of European Championship qualifiers.
Goran Perišić's team deserved the triumph because of everything they showed during tonight's match - Montenegro outplayed the Scandinavian team, during the match they were unlucky in some situations (the team hit the goalpost twice), and the reward came in stoppage time - first Viktor Đukanović put our team in the lead in the 95th minute, and Danilo Vukanić sealed the triumph four minutes later. Both times the assistant was Medo Juković.
Goran Perišić's team left a great impression tonight. Montenegro played a good match, had better chances, and in the end was rewarded for its good play.
At the start, the guests had more possession of the ball, and in the fifth minute, Montenegro hit the post - Nikola Vuković crossed from the right, and Vladimir Perišić headed it into the post from about five or six meters.
After Perišić, Andrej Kostić missed a good chance, and then in the 22nd minute the guests could have scored - Markus Karlsson shot from about five meters, and Vuković cleared the ball from the goal line. A few minutes later Benjamin Kriještarac stopped Sonko's attempt from the left side.
The first half was eventful, the beginning of the second was much calmer, and Dragan Miranović did not take advantage of a good chance, when he shot from about 16 meters and hit the post in the 67th minute.
Previously, Barakdji and Bjorklund were blocked, Sweden did not have a serious chance in the second half, did not pose a serious threat, while in the 90th minute, Balša Mrvaljević had a chance for Montenegro, but he was stopped by Bishesari.
And then in the 95th minute, the decisive moment - an assist from Juković, a poor intervention by the Swedish goalkeeper and a goal from Đukanović, a footballer who has made four appearances for the A national team.
The Swedes were nervous about the goal they conceded, so Agbonifo received a red card.
Danilo Vukanić put an end to a great night in the 99th minute with a great shot from distance.
