Injuries have plagued the Montenegro captain in recent years, and then a match against Croatia in which everything went badly for the "falcons" sent Stevan Jovetić on an unplanned break.
Due to the injury he sustained in the World Cup qualifiers, Jovetic will be out of action for the next three to four weeks, Cypriot media report.
Omonia's best player will therefore be out of club football until the next break due to international commitments, so the question is whether he will lead Montenegro against the Faroe Islands on October 9th.
As the "falcons" lost all chances in the World Cup qualifiers, it might have been expected that coach Robert Prosinecki would spare the player who played 89 games in the national team jersey.
Jovetić will be missed much more by Omonia, which is expecting several important matches in the Cypriot championship in the coming period, as well as the start of the Conference League and a clash with Mainz in Nicosia.
Cypriot media expect Jovetic to miss Omonia's next six games, the last one against Aris on September 5th, and new national team actions will begin immediately after that.
The first matches he is expected to play after his recovery will be clashes with Ipsonas on September 19th and the Albanian Drita four days later.
