Few people would have been able to "draw" the layout of the Montenegrin Premier League team's standings after the seventh round of the Meridianbet 1st CFL before the start of the 2025/2026 season.
Jezero is ruining the predictions - the club without a stadium and with the smallest budget in the league is third, just a point behind the leading duo of Sutjeska and Dečić. In addition, Plav has “scalped” them in head-to-head duels, winning Sutjeska 2:1 in Berne and outclassing Dečić - 4:0.
The chosen ones Miodrag Nana Džudović are an absolute hit, his team also has the league's top scorer, Djordje Maksimovic, with six goals conceded. They have scored at least a goal in every game, only Sutjeska has a better goal difference in the league by plus one.
- We are satisfied with the results, everyone in the club. The start was weaker, but then through the first league competition we had the opportunity to measure ourselves, see our own strength, progress through the game, trying at the same time to get results. Now everything is easier since we had preparations without quality checks, because as the club with the smallest budget we stayed here while all the other first league players were away. So we had control matches with second or third league players and therefore we were without real insight into the quality of our work. But now everything is falling into place, we are progressing, the team is trying its best to follow my work, and it has also shown that we are competitive - said Džudović.
6
goals were scored by 25-year-old Jezera striker Đorđe Maksimović from Kragujevac, who is the league's top scorer. Before coming to Montenegro, he played in Poland, Greece, Singapore and Serbia
The only defeat in the first round against Buducnost came in a turnaround, when the current champion scored two goals in two consecutive attacks in the final minutes.
- After last season's play-off for survival in our strongest league, Jezero was left without a team. The selection we made was good, because we brought in experienced players, who proved to be true leaders. Numerous young people are learning and progressing alongside them, all with incredible work ethic and a willingness to learn every day. That's how Meldin Kojic won the status of a first-team player, but also the national jersey of the cadet selection, in which he also Imran Redzepagic, and they get a chance and are close to the first team Matija Bojović, Uros Bulatovic. Twenty-year-old Nenad Krivokapić I know him from before, because I coached him in Buducnost as a very young player. We have a great mix of experienced and young players and I think there is a lot of room for us to improve in the game. We want results through the game. We have the game now, and only a few individual mistakes cost us a few more points. But we are satisfied - sums up Džudović's impressions.
The former Montenegrin national team player, coach of Buducnost, and temporary national team coach, took over Jezero on October 10th last year, when the club was last in the standings.
- As a Plav resident, I have to be happy that we have maintained our first league status. We have done a lot in a year. We have an artificial turf pitch where we train when the weather is bad, new changing rooms and a meeting room. We are also working on a new stadium project, but we have an excellent training stadium on Murina. It is also nice to play in Berane. We also have support, praise from our fellow citizens, and the president Ervin Tošić is ready to support and help us at any moment. We have a great atmosphere in the team, the coaching staff in which are Denis Nekovic, Rados Markovic, Nebojsa Asanović works with goalkeepers, and is a fitness trainer Darko A rich man"And we have a team of players with an incredible work ethic, football players who love football and the game. I am very pleased with how they have followed the coaching staff's requests so far," concluded Džudović.
