Chelsea had major problems this summer getting certain players to leave Stamford Bridge, and among those who ended up staying in London were two players with quite high salaries.
Raheem Sterling and Axel Disasi did not find clubs in August that were willing to take over from Chelsea the obligation to pay their wages, and how far they are from the ideas of the "blues" manager Enzo Maresca is shown by the fact that they are not training with the first team at all.
They are working separately, and will likely remain so until the January transfer window approaches, so Mareska answered questions from reporters about the mental state of Sterling and Disassio.
"Don't worry about them," said the Italian.
He continued in a not-so-conciliatory tone, but offered a concrete answer:
"My father is 75 years old, and has been a fisherman for 50 years, working from two to 10 in the morning... It's a hard life, not what football players have and the way they work. Feel free to ask my father. I know the club thinks about the two of them and that they have everything they need to train," Mareska pointed out.
