Đalović disappointed Maribor: Instead of resolving the situation, he went to get medical attention and mentioned a lawyer; It's as if he has two personalities

The Radomir Đalović case is still the main football topic in Slovenia, and after the Montenegrin expert left Maribor due to an incident during training, the "Human Garden" also spoke out.

Đalović decided to leave after just 16 days and three wins in three matches, due to what the media reported was a blow he received while trying to separate two of his players who had fought in training.

The most trophy-winning Slovenian club said that there was no justification for conflicts within the team, but also that many were not even aware that the coach had been hit.

"Only after some time did Omar Rekik, Benžamen Tete (the perpetrators of the fight) and I find out that during the scuffle, our coach was also hit. Before that, although I watched everything with my own eyes, I did not see it. I spoke to many players who were involved, no one saw who was hit in that scuffle," said Čem Bašgul, head of football operations at Maribor, to the "Ekipa 24" news agency.

He had hoped for a different epilogue after that.

"We all know that these are things that happen every day on football fields. Under normal circumstances, I would expect our head coach to resolve this situation. He could have said that he didn't want to see those two players anymore, that he wanted to punish them. We would have stood behind our coach. Whatever came from his side, we were ready to support him, because we feel the same way he does - a coach cannot take a hit. Intentionally or unintentionally," Başgul added.

Everything the former striker of the Montenegrin national team did disappointed Maribor's leadership.

"Unfortunately for us, he decided to leave. And to obtain a medical report, and he told us that his lawyer would contact us. Instead of resolving the problem before a very important match, at a time when we needed him the most, he decided to continue in this way. That is why we are very disappointed with his behavior."

He emphasized that he believes that Đalović is a good person and an excellent coach, but that "maybe the time wasn't right."

"Since he arrived, he has always been confused, bewildered. It may be because of personal problems or previous experiences. He did fantastic things with Rijeka, and then he had to leave. Psychologically, I think it was all very difficult for him. Starting a new journey at such a big club as Maribor, it may have been difficult for him to control himself psychologically," Basgül speculated, adding that.

The captain of Azba Jug was very harsh towards Đalović, who also regretted his departure.

"I can only say that he was like he had two personalities. The time spent with him was great, we gained a lot from him, we would have gained a lot more from him. Unfortunately, it turned out the way it did," said Jug.
