Numbers may often not be a true measure of how well a team plays, but sometimes they are relentless, as in the case of Buducnost - the team that is defending its title in Montenegro this year.
It sounds incredible that our biggest football club had more coaches in the new season than it won - since the beginning of preparations, the "blue and white" have been led by four experts, and in 14 games they have only won three.
After Ivan Brnović (replaced during preparations), Nenad Lalatović and Ivan Delić, Dejan Vukićević also sat on the bench of Buducnost - the first champion of Montenegro initially taught his players not to lose, but it seems that they need more patience and to start winning and winning.
The current champion played four games under his leadership, won one (against last-placed Bokelj) and recorded three draws, the last on Wednesday evening when they avoided defeat against Jezera pod Goricam in the 82nd minute.
"We lack aggression, intensity, pressing, as well as more secure ball possession, fast play, faster decision-making and good solutions in the final third of the pitch," Vukićević told the club's website.
The top, however, is not far away.
The coach of the "blue and whites" recently arrived at a team that has been shaken by many things from the beginning, both on and off the field, so it was difficult to expect him to quickly get it back on the winning track.
And, most importantly - regardless of the large number of mistakes, the top of the table is still not far away. The two leaders, Sutjeska and Dečić, are only four points ahead, and there are still many games to go.
"We will work hard to raise the level of physical fitness as well as the quality of the game and I am sure that we will very soon be at the level that the fans, as well as all of us at the club, wish for," emphasized Vukićević.
It's clear we don't have quality in midfield.
Vukićević also revealed where Budućnost has the most problems this season.
"It's perfectly clear that we don't have the quality in midfield that characterized our team last season. We are forced to play differently and we have a problem when we come out high up the way I want the team to play," the blue-and-whites coach pointed out.
In addition, they are struggling with injuries, so the new head coach could not count on the injured Filip Domazetović, Igor Ivanović, Petar Grbić, Marin Galić and Lazar Mijović for the match against Jezero, as well as the yellow card for Adnan Orahovac, and the insufficiently recovered Zoran Petrović, Ivan Bojović and Ivan Bulatović returned to the team.
"I won't say anything new if I say that we are facing major problems in the playing staff. This was also evident against Jezera, because due to the absence of six players, we were forced to throw in insufficiently recovered and physically unprepared first-team players who had been out for a month or more."
He said the following about the match with the traditionally unpleasant team from Plav.
"In the first half, we failed to create any serious chances, because our rival was very well positioned and used every opportunity to threaten us with counterattacks with very awkward, fast players. At the beginning of the second half, we conceded a goal and only after that and the substitutions we made, the team started to play and create chances."
Budućnost will have the opportunity to fix everything and fully return to the championship race on Sunday when they play against the leader Sutjeska in Nikšić in our biggest derby.
