Barcelona player Lamin Jamal has suffered another groin injury and will be out of action for the next two to three weeks, the Catalan club announced.

The news comes just hours after Jamal received a call-up for Spain's World Cup qualifiers.

Barca stated that "the groin problem resurfaced" after the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

The injury has already been the subject of a dispute between Barcelona and the Spanish national team.

Coach Hansi Flick criticized Spain for using Jamal in matches in September, claiming he played injured and that the team "didn't take care" of his condition.

Then Jamal missed four games for Barcelona due to "groin discomfort."

The Spanish federation rejected the claims, stressing that the player had passed all medical examinations and that Barcelona had not reported any problems.

"If a player comes, it means he is healthy. If he plays, it means he is ready," said Spain coach Luis de la Fuente.

Jamal has since played two matches for Barça, including the full 90 minutes against PSG.

As things stand, he will not play on Sunday against Sevilla, as well as in the qualifiers against Georgia on October 11th and Bulgaria on October 14th.
