Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said he hopes midfielder Rodri's injury, suffered against Brentford, is "not too serious".
Rodri, the 2024 Ballon d'Or winner, missed almost all of last season due to a serious knee injury. This time, he injured the posterior compartment of his right leg and left the game in the 22nd minute, replaced by compatriot Nico Gonzalez.
The Spanish international (29) later returned to the bench with his leg bandaged to support his teammates.
"I hope it's nothing serious. I don't know the extent of the injury, but it seems to be in the back box," Guardiola said at a press conference.
Rodri's appearance for the Spanish national team in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Bulgaria is now in question.
