Perišić: It's difficult after 0:2, it's a shame we lost Bulatović for a very important match with the Macedonians

The head coach of the Montenegrin youth football team, Goran Perišić, regrets the poor opening of the match against Poland - he believes that this is the reason for the defeat in Katowice.

Our team lost 2:0 in the 3rd round of the European Championship qualifiers.

"We started the game very poorly, conceding a goal after our technical error and the Poles, carried by the crowd, continued to pressure us and scored again. It is very difficult to get back into the game against such a strong team, but only after 2:0 did we release the pressure and had two goals by the end of the half," Perišić told the FSCG website.

The second half was better than the first...

"In the second half, we tried to shake up the team with substitutions and we partially succeeded in doing so, creating chances through Bulatović and Perišić. At the moment when we took control of the game and while we were creating chances, we earned a second yellow card for Bulatović and later Poland routinely ended the game. All in all, a very high physical expenditure in tonight's match, I believe that the boys will recover by the next game on our field, but it remains a pity that we will play without Bulatović in this important game for us," Perišić pointed out.

Montenegro plays its next match on Tuesday in Gorica - its rival is North Macedonia.
