The Montenegrin women's national team showed a reaction after a heavy defeat to Poland (9:0) and drew with Scotland in the second round of the preliminary round of qualifications for the European Championship.
Our team played a goalless draw with Scotland.
The big point came as a reward for courage and determination, for fighting spirit and good tactical performance, as well as the excellent performance of the goalkeeper - 15-year-old Ilda Orahovac.
"A great game, especially after a 9-0 defeat in the first round. It's hard to come back mentally after that, but the girls reacted brilliantly. We are proud of how they played, tactically excellent, combative, practically flawless defensively, we reduced Scotland to only one chance. We were focused on defense and the team did a great job of that, although we also had a few good situations in front of the Scottish goal," said coach Mirko Marić.
Montenegrin female footballers born in 2009 and younger reached the A Division after winning the tournament in Northern Ireland in March, where they defeated the hosts and Kazakhstan, and drew with Estonia.
In the final round of the tournament in Poland, Montenegro will play England on Tuesday at 14 p.m.
