The Faroe Islands national football team outclassed Montenegro on Thursday, celebrating 4:0 in World Cup qualifiers, and continued the fairytale tonight at the same venue - the Faroes defeated the Czech Republic 2:1 in Torshavn.
Another big win for the Faranahs, who after tonight's triumph are in third place, just one point behind the Czechs, who are in the play-off zone. They will play one match each until the end of this selection, but the Czechs are practically seen in the play-offs, because in the last match they welcome Gibraltar (November 17). On the other hand, the Faranahs are visiting Croatia in the last match, which is the absolute leader of Group L. Now the Faranahs can regret the March match, which they lost away to the Czechs (2:1). Then they fell in the 85th minute, when Patrik Sik scored the decisive goal.
And the Faroe Islands, in third place, have a match more and six points more than Montenegro. Also, the goal difference is on the side of the Faroes - plus four compared to minus nine for the "brave falcons".
