The October season has just passed, only one club round has been played, but the November date for the national team matches is already approaching.
Montenegro, which lost its chance to join the fight for a place in the World Cup in the European qualifying zone, will play its final matches in Group L.
The team, which was taken over by Mirko Vučinić last month, visits Gibraltar on November 14th, and hosts Croatia three days later. The matches do not mean much, except for the rating on the FIFA list, considering that our national team has lost almost even the theoretical chance of being third in the standings.
The Faroe Islands have six points more and only a convincing defeat of the Faroes against Croatia, and a convincing triumph of our team in Gibraltar, along with a victory against Croatia, can bring us to third place.
Hard to achieve, but less important, at least at this point. After Gibraltar, Vučinić will lead the team for the first time in a coaching episode against a major national team - a superpower, such as Croatia, and it will be interesting to see how he sets up the game.
In the matches that are important for preparing for future actions, they should have a more complete team than they had in October. Because the most experienced, the "senators" - Stevan Jovetić, Adam Marušić and Marko Janković, who were on a break due to injury, have recovered and were in action for their clubs over the weekend.
Jovetic, who was injured in Zagreb in September, was in Omonia's starting lineup two nights ago, playing 58 minutes as Omonia defeated Krasava 2-1 away in the seventh round of the Cypriot championship.
Adam Marušić, who last played for the national team in March against the Faroe Islands, came on for Lazio against Atalanta, meaning he missed only one club match, against Torino, due to an injury sustained on the eve of the last national team gathering.
And finally, Marko Janković also played for Qarabag - for the first 14 minutes in the new victory of the Azerbaijani champions, now in the championship, over Turan (2:1).
Our midfielder was injured in the Champions League match against Benfica in mid-September when he set up one of Qarabag's goals (3:2) in a memorable match for this club.
