They couldn't achieve a miracle in northern Europe, but it seems that this time it wasn't even realistic - the Buducnost youngsters are returning from their away game against Midtjylland in the first match of the 2nd round of Champions League qualifying with three goals in the net.
The boys coached by Marko Janjević were defeated 3:0 by their rivals from Denmark, so although it is clear that they will face a difficult, practically impossible, task in the rematch against Gorica, they know very well that they should not give up in advance.
The home team achieved a convincing victory in Ikast primarily due to a much better performance in the second half, against the Budućnost generation, which is one of the youngest in this age group.
The "blue and white" were excellent during the first half, not allowing their rival to threaten them from the action, but they "forgot" about the danger from distance. In the 30th minute, Sebastijan Lodberg found some space and sent a bomb from about thirty meters that Uroš Ilinčić could not reach.
During the first 45 minutes, Petar Vujović had two good attempts, his teammates and he tried hard in the rest of the game, but the team that is considered to have one of the better football schools in Scandinavia showed it on the field.
In the 64th minute, Egil Arnarson escaped from Buducnost's defenders on the right side, passed the ball into the penalty area, where Malik Pimpong did his best and increased the home team's lead to 2:0.
And when it seemed that Buducnost would return from Denmark with a somewhat favorable result, in the 89th minute a goal arrived that could have been avoided - August Skitehave scored for a big 3:0.
The rematch at Gorica is scheduled for November 5th.
